1-DAY INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL COMPLIANCE AND SOCIAL COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS WORKSHOP FOR SUPPLIERS

Overview:

This 1-day online workshop provides suppliers with an introduction to the basic elements and requirements of social compliance, based on the ETI Base Code, and an introduction to social compliance management systems. It is a popular choice for retailers and brands that are committed to assisting their suppliers with capacity building initiatives. A 2-day option that covers the topics in more detail is also available on request. A certificate of attendance is issued.

The course is more in-depth than the 1-Day Introduction Supplier Workshop. It is ideal for human resources  managers/officers, operations managers, SHEQ managers/officers, quality/technical managers and other management and supervisory staff who are involved with implementing company policies and procedures and who are responsible for compliance within their businesses.

The content includes but is not limited to:

  • Fundamentals of International regulatory and compliance frameworks and guiding principles 
  • Social compliance in South Africa - an overview

STEP 2:  6-DAY IMPLEMENTION OF SOCIAL COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS COURSE

Overview:

This 2-day online course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge required to successfully conduct internal social compliance audits. Attendees are required to successfully complete the introduction and implementation courses before they can attend this course. Assessments will take place throughout the course and a pass rate of 75% is required to receive a certificate of successful completion. 

 

Who can benefit from this course:

It is ideal for those who are responsible for social compliance and social compliance audits within their organisations and supply chains and who have some experience in the implementation of social compliance management systems or other recognised management systems. Responsible sourcing professionals can further hone their skills related to supplier compliance and selection. Those who aim to become professional third-party auditors can attend this course to gain the knowledge they need to become internal auditors so that they can gain sufficient experience to qualify for further training to become professional third-party social compliance auditors. Assessments will take place throughout the course and a pass rate of 75% is required to receive a certificate of successful completion. 

 

Content:

The content is based on ISO 19011 and ISO 17021 with a focus on the practical and theoretical aspects of internal audit planning, execution and post-audit processes.

STEP 3:  2-DAY SOCIAL COMPLIANCE INTERNAL AUDITOR COURSE

This 6-day online course has classes every Thursday over a 6-week period. It will equip you with the knowledge required to implement and maintain an effective social compliance management system. Participants are required to have successfully completed the 2-day Introduction to Social Compliance course as a prerequisite. 

 

Who can benefit from this course:

It is ideal for human resources managers/officers, operations managers, SHEQ managers/officers, quality/technical managers and other management and supervisory staff who are involved with implementing company policies and procedures and who are responsible for compliance within their businesses. It can also serve as a refresher for experienced social compliance auditors. Those who are interested in qualifying as professional independent third-party auditors can use the Introduction,  Implementation and Lead Auditor courses to equip themselves to start conducting internal audits so that they can gain sufficient experience to qualify to attend a lead auditor course. Consultants can also benefit from following this 3-step professional career development path.

Overview:

This 2-day online course will introduce you to the world of social compliance. Discover the history of social compliance, the foundations of all social compliance programs, the essential principles and other relevant concepts.

 

This course provides the foundation for the 6-day Implementation and the 2-day Internal Social Compliance Auditor courses or can be attended as a stand-alone course. 

 

A certificate of attendance will be issued to those attending, and those who successfully complete the assessment will receive a certificate of successful completion which is required to progress to the 6-day Implementation course. The pass rate is 75%.
